Minimum Qualification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES:
Have a New York State certificate to administer and monitor local infiltration anesthesia and nitrous oxide analgesia. NATURE OF WORK &
Responsibilities:
Performs dental services under the supervision of a licensed dentist. o Takes medical history and charts dental caries. o Places and exposes diagnostic dental X-ray films. o Removes deposits, growths, and stains from the exposed surfaces of the teeth and applies topical agents for dental treatment. o Removes cement, places or removes rubber dam, removes sutures, and places matrix band. o Performs topical medication, fluoride, and anesthetic applications. o Polishes teeth, including existing restorations. o Takes impressions for study casts. o Places and removes temporary restorations. o Teaches proper hygiene techniques for teeth and gums and develops individual at-home oral hygiene programs. o May perform all services properly performed by a Dental Assistant o Other duties as assigned. You must pass competencies for this position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
