Summary:
We are seeking a Administrative Assistant to perform various office duties Location:
West Haverstraw, NY 10993 Target Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday 9AM to 5:

December 2023 Description of Roles and
Responsibilities:
Answer phones, take messages, route inquiries to appropriate staff members, and respond to general correspondence and routine collection calls explaining the debt to the caller Post checks daily.
Create a weekly direct payment report reflecting all activity.
Remit all direct payments and reconcile all discrepancies on a weekly basis Utilize available resources to locate individuals and/or to obtain credit reports.
Retrieve information from internal databases and update electronic files regarding payment schedules, comments, etc.
Confer with client hospital business office concerning accounts that were referred for collection.
Process self-pay letters from lists referred to by the Patient Finance Administrator.
Resolve any discrepancies and/or assist the correspondent with payment agreements.
Process write-offs, when necessary Maintain strict confidentiality in full compliance with federal and state laws and regulations Review accounts identified by various databases as having possible incomplete information.
Make any necessary changes Type legal documents using templates, or from written or oral instruction Maintain office equipment.
Schedule service as needed.
Contact the hospital help desk regarding any issues with hospital systems Organize and maintain files Perform other duties as assigned Mandatory/Minimum Qualification, Skills, Experience Requirements:
Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
And at least two years of relevant experience Qualification, Skills, Experience Requirements:
Experience working in a government agency (i.
e.
, local, state, or federal) or as a Contractor of a government agency Background in healthcare administration and/or policies Must have good time management skills Detail-oriented, organized Able to catch errors/inconsistent/ incomplete work, proofread work Able to manage a large volume of electronic files without commingling files Must be able to work quickly and accurately Able to follow office policy and procedure Able to rename PDF files, drag and drop files in folders, copy and paste files into folders, create folders, edit template emails, double checks work, ask questions when clarification is needed Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook (Resume must stand alone in demonstrating qualifications and experience) Other Notes:
